Connecting Securely for a Brighter Future

Personal Statement – Founder of The BAO Group
My journey toward establishing BAO Strategies—a Go-to-Market Strategy Advisory Services firm under the BAO GROUP—has been shaped by a strong conviction: that the future of Ghana and Africa’s development depends on reliable, secure, and inclusive connectivity at the Network Edge. This belief is not theoretical; it is rooted in years of personal experience, strategic insights, and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the telecoms and cybersecurity landscape in Ghana and across Africa.
The seeds of this mission were planted in 2016, when I became an IT Manager on Ghana government payroll at St John of God Hospital under Goaso Diocesan Health Services in Duayaw Nkwanta and actively started solving rural connectivity, networking and Cyber Security challenges. That journey culminated in a major milestone in August 2021 at Hopexchange Medical Center in Kumasi where my first Go-to-Market Strategy was approved by the National Communications Authority after Telcos failed to meet my requirements since January 2016.
These engagements exposed me to the digital divide in rural and peri-urban areas, where mobile and satellite connectivity—secured with Zero-Trust Cyber Security Architecture—coul mean the difference between isolation and inclusion, between vulnerability and resilience. The experience awakened a sense of purpose in me. I realized that bringing robust, affordable, and secure connectivity to underserved regions wasn’t just a technical challenge; it was a national economic and social imperative.
In July 2024, I submitted my independent, cloud-based, and global Go-to-Market strategy to Ghana’s National Communications Authority (NCA). This strategy was not just another proposal—it was a bold, systems-thinking vision for integrating 4G LTE, 5G, fiber, and Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite broadband with Zero-Trust Cyber Security Architecture, all deployed and managed at the Network Edge. My aim was simple yet ambitious: to meet Ghana’s critical enterprise and institutional customers at the point of their connectivity and cybersecurity needs—no matter where they are.
The NCA’s approval of my strategy was a defining moment. It affirmed that my vision was viable, relevant, and necessary. It also marked the beginning of BAO Strategies, the flagship advisory service of the BAO GROUP. Our work focuses on enabling Telcos and strategic partners to deliver managed connectivity and security services on a monthly subscription basis.
By doing so, we reduce barriers to entry for enterprise and government customers who need reliable broadband and uncompromising security but cannot afford the high capital costs or fragmented service models that dominate the market.
At the heart of BAO Strategies is a strong network of partnerships. We intend to work closely with Ghanaian Telcos, global equipment vendors, cybersecurity providers, the Ghana government,
and development-focused partners such as the MP for Tano North Constituency, the Bishop of Goaso Diocese, the management of Hopexchange Medical Center, and the U.S. Embassy.
These alliances are not opportunistic—they are strategic. Each stakeholder plays a role in shaping a sustainable digital infrastructure model that is inclusive, secure, and future-ready.
Our slogan captures this spirit: “Meeting customers at the point of their connectivity and cybersecurity needs at the Network Edge.” Our motto makes our dedication clear: “We do not go to sleep at the Network Edge where Mobile and Satellite connectivity with Zero-Trust Cyber
Security Architecture matters most to critical enterprise customers.” We believe that the Network Edge is where the action is, where lives and missions depend on connectivity that works and security that holds.
BAO Strategies is guided by five core values: Integrity, Innovation, Inclusion, Teamwork, and Accountability. These principles are not aspirational—they are operational. We uphold Integrity in how we advise and engage with partners. We pursue Innovation by integrating cutting-edge mobile, fiber, and satellite technologies. We champion Inclusion by focusing on underserved areas and institutions.
We believe in Teamwork, recognizing that our mission can only succeed
through collaboration. And we enforce Accountability, both in our internal operations and in how we evaluate the impact of our strategies.
Our mission is to prove that integrated connectivity through Mobile, Fiber, and Satellite Fixed Wireless Access Solutions—secured with robust Zero-Trust Cyber Security Architecture at the Network Edge—is not only possible, but essential for Africa’s socio-economic progress.
Our vision is to become the preferred and trusted Go-to-Market Strategy Advisory Services firm for secure, integrated connectivity across Ghana and the continent. I am not driven by profit alone. I am motivated by a sense of national and continental duty. I see
connectivity as a human right and cybersecurity as a cornerstone of national resilience. BAO Strategies is my vehicle to drive this transformation.
Through this platform, I intend to elevate the level of discourse and execution around connectivity and cybersecurity. I want to help Ghana move from being a consumer of imported solutions to a leader in context-driven digital infrastructure models that work for African realities.
This personal statement is more than a declaration of intent. It is a commitment—to innovation, to inclusion, to national development, and to the people and institutions that rely on secure connectivity to fulfill their missions. BAO Strategies will be the bridge that connects these needs to real, sustainable solutions.
